Who We Are
Parents For Educational Choice is a
growing group of parents and supporters affiliated with many different schools
across the province who believe in government supported school choice.
| We will: |
- empower parents by providing regular information on the issue of school choice and strategies to speak out of this issue on their own behalf
- heighten public awareness about the contributions made by independent schools and their graduates to the public good in Ontario
- exert influence to acquire government support for parental choice in education
|
We derive our beliefs from the following
documents:
"And whereas it is public policy in Ontario to
recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide for equal rights
and opportunities without discrimination that is contrary to law, and having as
its aim the creation of a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the
dignity and worth of each person so that each person feels a part of the
community and able to contribute fully to the development and well-being of the
community and the Province...."
"Parents shall have the prior right to choose
the kind of education that shall be given to their
children..."
